Terms of Use & Legal Disclaimer
Last updated: May 25, 2026
1. No Legal Advice
Clear Clause is an informational and educational tool only. The platform does not provide legal advice, legal representation, legal opinions, or attorney services.
Any summaries, breakdowns, risk highlights, explanations, recommendations, or insights generated through the platform are automated interpretations and should not be relied upon as a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney.
2. Not a Law Firm
Clear Clause is not a law firm and is not operated by attorneys acting as your legal counsel. Use of the platform does not create:
• an attorney-client relationship,
• legal privilege,
• legal representation,
• fiduciary duty, or
• any professional legal obligation.
3. AI-Generated Analysis May Be Incomplete
The platform uses automated systems and artificial intelligence to analyze contracts and documents. Because of this:
• The analysis may contain errors, inaccuracies, omissions, or misunderstandings.
• The platform may fail to identify important clauses, legal risks, deadlines, liabilities, penalties, or obligations.
• Contract interpretations may vary depending on jurisdiction, context, or evolving law.
• The platform cannot guarantee that every risk or legal issue will be detected.
Users acknowledge that any contract or legal document should still be carefully reviewed by a qualified legal professional before signing, relying upon, enforcing, or disputing the document.
4. User Responsibility
By using Clear Clause, you understand and agree that:
• You are solely responsible for reviewing any document you upload.
• You are responsible for seeking independent legal advice where necessary.
• You should not make legal, financial, business, employment, housing, or personal decisions based solely on the platform's output.
• You assume all risks associated with relying on automated contract analysis.
5. No Guarantee of Accuracy
Clear Clause makes no warranties or guarantees regarding:
• accuracy,
• completeness,
• reliability,
• legal validity,
• enforceability,
• suitability, or
• correctness
of any analysis, summary, recommendation, or output generated through the platform.
All services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE."
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Clear Clause, its owners, affiliates, employees, contractors, licensors, and partners shall not be liable for:
• financial loss,
• business loss,
• missed obligations,
• legal disputes,
• contract disputes,
• damages,
• penalties,
• lawsuits,
• eviction,
• employment consequences,
• or any direct or indirect harm
resulting from the use of the platform or reliance on its analysis.
7. No Substitute for Professional Review
Users are strongly encouraged to consult a licensed attorney for:
• complex contracts,
• high-value agreements,
• legal disputes,
• employment agreements,
• real estate documents,
• custody agreements,
• business formation documents,
• or any legally significant matter.
Clear Clause is intended to assist with readability and awareness — not replace professional legal review.
8. Account Registration & Security

• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or are used in violation of these Terms.
9. Subscription & Payment Terms
Certain features of Clear Clause are offered on a paid subscription basis, processed through our third-party payment provider (Stripe).
• Subscription fees, billing cycles, and plan details are presented at the point of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled before renewal.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
• We may change pricing at any time; changes will not affect your current billing cycle but will apply at renewal.
• If a payment fails, access to paid features may be suspended until payment is successfully processed.
10. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, software, design, code, and materials made available through Clear Clause are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
• You retain ownership of any documents you upload to the platform.
• By uploading a document, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process, analyze, and display it for the purpose of providing the service to you.
• You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without our written permission.
11. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
• Use the platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
• Upload documents that contain malware, viruses, or malicious code.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the platform.
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the service.
• Use the platform's outputs to build, train, or improve a competing product or service.
• Misrepresent the platform's outputs as legal advice to third parties.
• Interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation, security, or other users.
12. Third-Party Services
Clear Clause relies on third-party services to operate, including (but not limited to) payment processing (Stripe), cloud hosting, and AI model providers.
• We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or reliability of third-party services.
• Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
• Outages, errors, or changes in third-party services may affect platform functionality.
13. Data Retention & Deletion
Documents you upload and the analyses generated may be stored to provide ongoing access to your results.
• You may delete your documents and analyses from your account at any time.
• Upon account deletion, your associated data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable legal retention requirements.
• Backup copies may persist for a limited period before being permanently purged.
14. Termination & Suspension
We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the platform at any time, with or without notice, if:
• You violate these Terms,
• Your use poses a security, legal, or operational risk,
• Required by law or regulatory authorities, or
• We discontinue the service.
You may stop using the platform and cancel your account at any time. Termination does not relieve you of any obligations incurred before termination, including outstanding payments.
15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Clear Clause is operated, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the platform shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in that jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
16. Changes to Terms
We may update or modify these Terms from time to time. When we do:
• The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
• Material changes may be communicated via email or an in-platform notice.
• Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the platform.
17. Severability & Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Clear Clause regarding your use of the platform and supersede any prior agreements.
18. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Clear Clause, the user acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions and Legal Disclaimer.
